Christopher Judge | Elevating Black Voices in Sci-Fi – Watch the Full Video

Christopher Judge: Elevating Black Voices in Sci-Fi is a panel discussion on where we’ve come from and where we’re going next.

This ambitious, no-holds-barred roundtable sees Judge joined by a panel of fellow actors, producers, and creatives to talk about the opprobrium that greeted Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s Benjamin Sisko, the backlash against cosplaying traditionally white characters, and why everyone needs to read N.K. Jemisin.

A bonafide geek icon, Judge joined the core cast of Stargate SG-1 in 1997 as the Jaffa freedom fighter Teal’c, going on to appear in 211 episodes of SG-1, two episodes of Stargate Atlantis, and the movies Stargate: The Ark of Truth (2008), and Stargate: Continuum (2008). He also wrote five episodes of the show: ‘The Warrior’ (S5, Ep11), ‘The Changeling’ (S6, Ep19), ‘Birthright’ (S7, Ep10), and ‘Sacrifices’ (S8, Ep9).

More recently, Judge has won the devotion of an entire new fandom, voicing and motion capturing Kratos in the video games God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök, and voicing Black Panther in the War for Wakanda expansion for Marvel’s Avengers (2020).
